Kerrie Jean is the proud owner of, and primary caregiver at, Tucked Inn Kennels. She is a 40+ year animal Mom and welcomes all types of animals into her heart and her home. With five dogs, four cats, chickens, ducks and ferrets, there isn’t an animal she has met that does not become one of her babies.
Growing up, Kerrie (and everyone around her!) knew she was destined to work with animals in some capacity. When faced with the decision to enter college, she had actually begun the process with the University of Guelph Veterinary program. Unfortunately, at such a young age, she was unable to grasp the concept of having to euthanize animals, and it derailed the decision to continue with the program. A decision she regrets to this day.
A lifelong animal owner, Kerrie has followed her passion and when the opportunity and idea of Tucked Inn came along, she pounced on it immediately! Two years later, her dream of working with animals came to be. Passionate about ensuring that all animals are treated with the care and love they deserve, Tucked Inn Kennels has been designed with a dog’s ultimate comfort in mind.
In addition to her love of animals, Kerrie is a sponge for knowledge about animal behaviour and welfare. She is constantly studying new techniques, training methods and behavioural adaptations, and the learning never stops. To date, she has successfully completed studies and holds certifications in the following:
- Animal Care and Welfare
- Animal Psychology
- Dog Psychology
- Dog Behaviour & Training
- Dog Emotion and Cognition
- Animal Physical Therapy
- Pet First-Aid and CPR
- Prevention and Management of Dog Aggression
- Veterinary Support Assistant

When you arrive at Tucked Inn Kennels, Kerrie is sure to break the cardinal rule of “No Talk, No Touch, No Eye Contact” with your dogs. She greets every animal with open arms and hugs galore! Kerrie’s promise to you is that by the time you leave, you’ll be confident that your dog will be treated with love and compassion, and that they are in excellent hands!
